Could
Viagra be Addictive?
Could Viagra be
addictive? The answer is probably yes, for two reasons. Firstly men
who take Viagra to enjoy greater pleasure may find that love life
without the drug is bland and uninteresting, in comparison. Secondly
it is possible that in some people the action of the drug will
become less with time, so they are then less able to have a
non-Viagra erection than before they started taking Viagra. In
addition, some men with no performance problems except in their
minds may take far larger doses of Viagra than advised, to satisfy
their own perceptions of what is a satisfactory level of
performance.
Auckland University
senior lecturer in psychology John Reed said recently: "The drug
companies are trying to promulgate the idea that erectile
dysfunction is primarily a biological problem, which is false in the
vast majority of cases. It's playing on and exaggerating men's fears
about impotence, rather than educating them that in the vast
majority of cases it's normal, natural and goes away by itself, or
with a bit of education". Quote from Evening Post (New Zealand) 4
